Riding the Blue Ridge Parkway

A little bit of history

I figure history is important. The big history will go on... Hiroshima and World Wars, the Polio Vaccine, the Eagle landing on the moon. But the little histories... the thousands of little stories told every day, they're just as important.

When I rode by this little group of cabins, which turned out to be a Church, I had to go back and walk the land. Read the story. Learn the reason.

The little histories like this are what people do every day, and their stories should be told, should be celebrated, should be preserved.

IMG_2497.JPG - The water comes from the spring, under the rocks and ground, and travels down this gouged-out log, and into another hollowed-out log to form a trough or basin. The water then runs off out the back side of the spring house. Very clever set up.
