Riding the Blue Ridge Parkway

Deal's Gap Resort, some scenery at the resting place 10 miles out, then back.

I got to Deal's Gap Resort in time for an early lunch... burger and onion rings... and sat around talking with a few people, including one guy who recently traded in an '02 GL1800 on a VTX. Hmm... Anyway, after eating, I rode the Tail of the Dragon out to the resting place about 10 miles out, including a ride-by Killboy. Hopefully he got a good shot of me, and it'll be worth buying and hanging in my basement!!

Also saw that a Harley Electraglide ended up in the ditch. Cops were there and the guy appeared to be fine. The bike was fuxx0red, tho'.

Snapped a few pictures at the resting spot, talked with some more folks, including a riding club all on... yep, you guessed it... Harleys. Man, oh, man, they sell a lot of bikes!

Then I rode back to the resort, snapped a few more pictures, then got out of my heavy riding gear and in to my air-mesh stuff. It was in the low 80s by this point and I was really feeling it.

After changing my gear, having another drink and refilling my water bottle, I headed back to the Parkway to start my journey home. Oh yeah... I bought a t-shirt and several dragon stickers. Can't go away empty handed!

IMG_2371.JPG - I'm not typically a big fan of flames on a bike - I only purchased mine with the flames because it was the only alternative to basic black - but this bike has a fantastic flamed paint job. Well done!!
