Riding the Blue Ridge Parkway
Blue Ridge Parkway - South and Rt. 28 to Deal's Gap
I got onto the Parkway early in the morning and decided to eat up some time by heading South, first. Almost immediately I was greeted by several beautiful overlooks and a couple of tunnels.
The early morning chill, wind in my face, low sun and animal sounds were all intoxicating. That, my friends, is the best way to start a day.
Eventually, I turned around and got back off the Parkway in Maggie Valley, and headed out Rt. 19 and Rt. 28 to Deal's Gap. My plan was to hang out at the Deal's Gap Resort, have an early lunch and head back to the Parkway.
Rt. 28 was as invigorating as always.

IMG_2350.JPG - This river, crossed by Rt. 19 near Bryson City is banked by old cars. I know there's a joke in there about Southern Engineering, but I'm just not gonna go there.
